Papparazzi; Worth a Look
by Nicole Watts
Papparazzi is a quaint and quiet Italian restaurant nestled in behind the Peoria Heights police department. This hidden gem features northern Italian dishes in a warm, cozy atmosphere. The staff is welcoming and friendly.
The wine list offers a good selection of moderately priced wines. The Benton Lane Pinot Noir paired with garlic bread and a house salad with gorgonzola were a delicious start to our meal.
The menu features a mix and match pasta menu where you can build your ideal plate of pasta. In my opinion, the true test of an Italian kitchen is meatballs & marinara. Papparazzi’s meatballs and marinara did not disappoint. My linguine was fresh. The tomato sauce was mild with large chunks of tomato. The meatballs were beefy and well mixed. It reminded me of the Italian food served up when I lived in Staten Island.
Additionally, the menu offers more traditional Italian favorites, like lasagna and chicken cacciatora. They also offer a wide variety of veal dishes.
Of the locally owned Italian restaurants in Peoria, Paparazzi is my favorite. If you are looking for a meal that is easy on both your palette and wallet, this is the place.
They are located at 4315 Voss Avenue in Peoria Heights.
