Steve Tarter completed a 20-year career on the Peoria Journal Star this spring. He served as a reporter and business editor on the paper, writing weekly column as well as delivering over 100 podcasts. He's previously worked at the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District and the Peoria Observer. Born in England, raised in Boston, Tarter came to Peoria to attend Bradley University (graduating in 1972). He and his wife Kris have raised four children in Peoria and consider central Illinois the best of all possible worlds while admitting it can be impossible at times. Contributor to Peoria Life since July 2019
