The big question, does fundraising and monetary help “Play in Peoria”! The answer, yes it does. From the Snag and Brag Fishing Derby hosted by Pat Sullivan for the Peoria Boys and Girls Club, to the OSF Foundation “Angel Ball” which is held every 5 years, to golf outings for our Military families. Fundraising does play very well in Peoria.

Just coming up this next weekend, Easter Seals will be having their 18th annual Tribute Dinner on November 2, 2012 for Sister Judith Ann Duvall at the Peoria Civic Center. The next day on November 3, 2012, CASA will be holding their Dancing with the Stars at the Par-A-Dice Hotel and Casino. This fundraiser will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates for children.

Last March, the MS Society held their annual MS Carnivale, and on October 5th the 2012 Undy 5000 was held and all proceeds went to benefit Colon Cancer. The Hope Walk for Autism was held at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie on October 21, 2012.

Coming soon, The Festival of Trees to benefit the Crittenton Centers, and Bradley University Greek Week Blood Drive on November 5, will be having their annual American Red Cross Blood Drive. Also, Hoerr’s Nursery will be holding “Christmas by Candlelight proceeds will benefit the Forest Park Nature Center.

So yes fundraising of every type Plays in Peoria. Any amount, any gift donation will help any of these fundraisers. No matter if it is $1.00 or $100 dollars every bit helps.
In this column I am just scratching the surface of the fundraisers for our community. So if you have the means of any type, be it .50 cents from a child or $5.00 from an adult it all helps.

So in closing keep your eyes and ears open for any upcoming fundraisers,
because you never know, it might be you benefitting from a fundraiser.
